Making complex work easier to learn and use.

I design practical learning experiences that help people adopt new systems, understand processes, and do their work with confidence. My background brings together instructional design, training for software implementations, onboarding, and HR operations.

Selected projects

Design studies and work samples showing how I move from a learning problem to a useful solution.

Security awareness training

An interactive learning concept for employees at a software organization, designed to strengthen everyday decisions about phishing, safe data practices, and confidential information.

Needs analysis · Storyline prototype · usability review

The challenge

Annual security training was required, but completing a course alone could not establish whether employees could recognize and respond to risky situations.

My approach

I gathered input from six executive committee members and ten employees, developed learning objectives, and prototyped scenarios and knowledge checks. Three participants then tested the prototype remotely.

What testing revealed

Participants needed clearer instructions in a file-safety interaction, better cues showing which hotspots they had visited, and an easier path out of a review loop. The usability report documents the observed issues and proposed changes. It also identifies assessment routing that remained to be built.

Project status

Academic design and prototype. Proposed performance targets and revisions are design goals, not measured organizational results.

Virtual onboarding for new hires

A 90-day learning journey designed to help remote employees learn their roles, build relationships, and find the people and resources they need.

Journey design · Microsoft Teams · cohort learning

The challenge

Remote hires needed more than an online orientation: they needed a way to meet colleagues, understand how departments connect, and develop goals with their managers.

My approach

I mapped a cohort experience in Teams using live conversations, shared files, video resources, group activities, and manager check-ins. The prototype shows the first module, including an orientation, company introduction, coworker interviews, and a first-month conversation with the manager.

Design considerations

The proposal addresses leadership participation, scale, and learner motivation. It is a design prototype; it is separate from the three-day new-hire orientation and video library I implemented professionally at CIC Plus.

Coaching for new managers

A workshop concept that gives newly promoted managers a framework for coaching conversations and tools to practice and assess their skills.

Workshop design · job aids · assessment rubric

The challenge

Managers may be adept at directing work but less practiced at helping employees identify obstacles, develop their own solutions, and follow through.

My approach

I proposed practice with realistic scenarios and recorded role plays, a quick reference guide for use after the session, and a rubric covering meeting goals, listening, communication, and coaching skills.

Adoption considerations

The outline considers manager time, leadership sponsorship, employee communication, and how to evaluate change over time. These materials document a proposed learning solution.

Professional experience

Training that supports implementation.

At CIC Plus, I managed learning work across employee onboarding, internal software adoption, documentation, and recurring training. Earlier at Silkroad, I trained client HR teams on their configured recruiting, onboarding, and performance systems.

The projects above demonstrate my design process. This professional experience is described here separately because the linked academic artifacts were not produced for those employers.

  • Planned and delivered training for a SharePoint migration, from objectives and materials through sessions, feedback, and follow-up.
  • Redesigned new-hire orientation as a three-day program and organized a SharePoint video library and viewing sequence.
  • Created a skills inventory to help surface internal subject matter expertise and possible development gaps.
  • Produced product documentation, release notes, job aids, and training videos for internal and client audiences.
  • Delivered customized client training and adoption guidance for configured Silkroad HR systems.
